Discover How the 2020 PUSD Override Will Impact Your Tax Bill.
The Prescott Unified School District Governing Board is asking voters to approve an 8% budget override—enough to bring PUSD teacher salaries halfway up to the state average from where they are now.
Putting exceptional teachers in front of students is hands-down the best way to give them a world-class education so they can become world-class leaders.
Increasing PUSD teacher salaries will not only help ensure our wonderful educators want to stay, but it will also attract great teachers to our district.
So how much will it cost you to help PUSD attract and retain exceptional teachers?
With an 8% override, the estimated tax rate would be 0.1959. That means property owners would pay $19.59 per year for every $100,000 of residential assessed value. This year, the preliminary, average assessed value of a Prescott residence is $275,180. The yearly override tax on a property at that value is $53.91, which is $4.49 per month or $0.15 per day.
(Keep in mind that assessed/taxed value is different from market value.)
This is a small investment to make in the future of our children—and the future of our community.
